Blue light clearly outperformed the rest when it came to boosting key plant metrics like flower yield, corm weight, and stigma quality.

While 100% blue light has proven to be highly effective on its own, incorporating a carefully balanced percentage of red and far-red wavelengths into the lighting setup can provide added benefits. A ratio such as 70% blue, 20% red, and 10% far-red can stimulate more synchronized flowering, aid in stronger corm development, and improve overall biomass distribution. Red light helps in regulating photomorphogenesis and plant energy use, while far-red light plays a critical role in photoperiod signalling—important for flower timing and development. This balanced spectrum approach can fine-tune growth outcomes and maximize both yield quality and consistency.
